It is with great pleasure that I present the first guest of the Fall 2022 series of Paola Studiolo ~ Servane Giol!
Her newest book "Venice, a Private Invitation" is a dazzling, touchingly romantic love letter to Venice. In an intimate and informed invitation to the city, Giol guides us through a maze of canals, secluded campos, and narrow alleyways to meet some of Venice’s most creative residents, opening the door to private historic palazzi, owned by a new generation of artists and designers drawn to Venice’s radiant beauty, energy, and lifestyle.
We will discuss what inspired this beautiful new book which hits the book stands worldwide on October 18th!
Born in Paris, Servane Giol has lived and worked in Venice for over twenty years. She lives with her family in one of the oldest palazzi on the Grand Canal, the fourteenth-century Palazzo Falier. Servane Giol has founded two theater companies in Venice: Laboratorio Falier, a school for children and adults dedicated to Italian and French classical theater, and Compania Falier, a group of Venetian performers who have raised shows for charity to an art form.
